Henning residents reminded to keep bird feed away from bears

A bear has recently been spotted near Willow Creek and the David Holmgren Walking Trail near Highway 67 in Henning.
Henning Police Chief Mike Helle is asking residents to not leave food, including bird feeders, outside over night as these items will attract the bear and keep it in town. Even the smallest amount of bird feed can still help feed a bear and keep it lurking in the area in search for more food to consume.
Residents are reminded to not approach a bear if it is spotted and to call the authorities.
