OTC falls to Frazee in Section 8AA

0Bulldogs defeat Vikings in section opener

The Otter Tail Central softball team had its season come to a close on Tuesday with a 12-0 loss to top seeded Frazee in the sub section tournament. The loss came on the heels of a win over Pelican Rapids in the pigtail game of the Section 8AA tournament.
The loss to Frazee ended the Bulldogs season with a record of 4-14 overall.
May 13
OTC picked up its second win of the season on May 13 as the Bulldogs defeated Ashby by a score of 10-0.
The Bulldogs scored 1 run in the third, four in the fourth inning and five runs in the sixth inning to end the game by the 10-run rule.
Katie Aune pitched the first 4 innings of the game and gave up just 2 hits and struck out 4 hitters, while Sophie Akerman pitched the final 2 innings and gave up just 1 hit and struck out 2 hitters.
Offensively the Bulldogs were led the Aune and Emmie Lundquist with 3 hits apiece, while Hannah Radzwill picked up a pair of hits.
Ezrah Baker, Liz Lukken, Akerman and Alivia Gunderson each finished with a hit in the win.
May 17
OTC split a doubleheader with Sebeka on May 17. The Bulldogs dropped the opening game of the day by a score of 14-2. After OTC scored 1 run in the top of the second inning, the Trojans were able to score 3 runs in the second and 11 in the fourth inning to pull ahead for good. OTC’s other run came in the third inning.
Ezrah Baker, Emmie Lundquist and Hannah Radzwill led the way offensively with 2 hits apiece, while Liz Lukken got OTC’s seventh hit.
Katie Aune took the loss on the mound as she went 4 innings and gave up 18 hits, 13 runs and struck out 3 hitters.
In the second game of the night, OTC defeated Sebeka by a score of 9-8. The Bulldogs outhit the Trojans 10-4, but 7 walks gave the Trojans some extra runners on the base paths throughout the game.
The game was tied at 3-3 midway through the second inning after OTC scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning, before the Bulldogs added 2 runs in the fifth inning and 4 more in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 9-7 lead. The Trojans scored a run in the top of the seventh inning, but were unable to get any closer as OTC picked up its third win of the season by a score of 9-8.
Baker, Brooklyn Christianson, Lundquist and Sophie Akerman each had 2 hits in the game as the top of the order found quite a bit of success at the plate. Liz Lukken and Aune also finished with a hit in the win.
Akerman picked up the win on the mound as she went 7 innings and gave up 4 hits, just 3 earned runs and struck out 5 hitters.
