“North Country Cabin Cooking 275 Quick and Easy Recipes” by Margie Knoblauch and Mary Brubacher is our featured book this week at the Henning Public School Library.  This is a great recipe book to check out and have at your family cabin over the New Year’s Holiday.

The book features recipes for appetizers and snacks, breads and breakfast, eggs and cheese, soups and sandwiches, along with main and side dishes, and in the back you can find wonderful recipes for desserts.

Honey-Fried Walleye Fillets will be the main dish recipe I will be trying for some friends of mine.  I will need six large Walleye fillets, vegetable oil, an egg, honey, soda crackers, flour, salt and pepper.  This is a very quick and easy recipe to prepare as the fish can take about six total minutes to cook. Most kitchens have these supplies and the freezer is probably holding the Walleye.

The recipes in this cookbook are easy to read, easy to follow directions, and can be fun to do with a friend or family members.

We hope to see you at the library to checkout one of our wonderful brand new recipe books.  We are open to the public from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays following the school calendar.

  Merry Christmas Citizen’s Advocate readers!
