Recently my mother, LuCille Skauge, passed away while residing at the Willow Creek Assisted Living facility in Henning, just shy of her 98th birthday.  My wife Cindy and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the Director, Lisa Augustus, and to all of the staff there who took such good care of her, and guided us during her stay.  LuCille was a resident at Willow Creek for just over two years, and she enjoyed her time there very much.  We were regular visitors, and always found her getting the best of care.  We also found all of the staff we dealt with to be friendly, having a positive attitude, and to be well informed regarding her status.  Given her advanced age and cognitive issues, particularly at the end of her life, we know that caring for her was at times challenging.  However, we were always comfortable and confident regarding the care she was receiving from staff.  That includes the staff from the Knute Nelson Hospice program, who worked so well with the Willows staff to support her near the end of her life.  She greatly enjoyed music, particularly playing the piano and her harmonica, which staff always encouraged her to do.  Again, we are so appreciative of the care she received while at Willows, and the Community of Henning should feel proud of the care that is being given in a facility that is uniquely community-owned.

Sincerely, Steve and Cindy Skauge.
