This week’s Book Spotlight is “The Joe Pickett Series” by C.J. Box.  Do you love mystery, outdoor adventure, and edge-of-your-seat suspense? Then it’s time to meet Joe Pickett, the star of C.J. Box’s bestselling series!

You ask, “Who is Joe Pickett?” Joe is a Wyoming game warden—he protects the land, the animals, and the people. But his job is far from quiet. Each book throws Joe into dangerous investigations full of twists, secrets, and life-or-death decisions. He’s not your typical hero—he’s honest, humble, and always tries to do the right thing, even when it’s tough.

You’ll love the series because it is set in the wide-open spaces of Wyoming. It has realistic characters with heart and grit.  There is mystery, lots of action and a bit of Western flair, plus Joe’s strong sense of justice keeps readers rooting for him.

Our library has the complete set of the Joe Pickett series.  “Open Season” is the first book.  Joe finds a body, uncovers a cover-up and takes on powerful enemies. Book two is “Savage Run,” which takes on environmental activists, political pressure and explosive danger.  Book three is “Winterkill.” It involves a blizzard, a killer on the loose, and Joe caught in the middle.
