Another series of books that we purchased with the $3,000 grant from Otter Tail Power Company is “Let’s Investigate with Nate” by PBS host Bate Ball and illustrated by Wes Hargis. This series takes young readers into the world of problem solving as well as critical thinking. With the main character Nate, who is an inquisitive detective, the reader engages in a mystery with educational elements that make the reader think logically while being captivated by the story. Nate is a clever and curious protagonist who solves mysteries in his own neighborhood as well as school. There are unique puzzles, logical challenges, and riddles entwined throughout the story, making it both entertaining and mentally challenging.
Because these books are interactive, relatable, and entertaining, students will want to read them all. Curiosity and critical thinking are key components of STEM and we want to empower our students to explore, question, and solve problems in their everyday lives.
The Henning Public and School Library is open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. You can access us through the elementary entrance during that time or you can come up at any point during the day through the District Office entrance. We will be here waiting for you.
