Thank you again to all the volunteers who helped with our recent Community Mural painting project “Spirit of the Prairie” on the Landmark Station. Thanks also to the volunteers who helped make our Corn, Brat, and Burger feed a success. To those of you who enjoyed the live music by the Spindler Family, they will return for an encore performance at out Pie and Pumpkin Oktoberfest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. Join us for this free event including pumpkin painting, pie and ice cream, and beautiful live Gospel Bluegrass music by the Spindler’s.

Ceramic artist Mimi Seykora will host a five day pottery workshop at the Landmark Station on Tuesdays and Thursdays in September. Participants will use a White Stoneware clay to produce multiple art works, with time for drying, detail work, under-glazing, bisque firing, and final clear glazing. Workshops are scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Sept. 8, 10, 15, 17 and 22. Your registration fee includes all materials, instruction, and kiln firing. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP, space is limited.

Landmark Center is available for public or private gatherings, family receptions, reunions, workshops, and retreats. Our second floor retreat center has 5 air-conditioned bedrooms and two full baths, with bed space for 10 overnight guests. We also provide free Wi-Fi inside and outside in our patio area. We have a collection of local Henning History artifacts and are currently working with volunteers to create a Henning History Book. Please let us know if you have any stories or photographs we may copy for inclusion in this book.
