Space is still available for two upcoming Saturday workshops at the Landmark Center.

Artist Faythe Mills will host a pencil portrait drawing workshop on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A $40 registration fee includes all instruction and materials needed to create a unique pencil drawing from a photo you will provide of a person or animal.

Artist Mary Jo Wentz will host a Needle Felting Workshop on Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A $35 registration fee includes all materials and instruction needed to create a “Chubby Wren” using this felting process. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP. No prior experience is necessary.

You are invited to attend the Landmark Center Annual Meeting scheduled on Wednesday, June 8 at 5 p.m. We welcome your participation and ask for your feedback about the activities we have provided for the past 12 years. We also welcome any suggestions about future goals, activities and usage of this wonderful public facility.

We are continuing to schedule summer workshop activities and will make a schedule available when possible. With loss of one major grant, a few of our summer workshops will be adjusted with hopes we can still offer ceramics and watercolor training sessions. We also plan to offer workshops in oil pastel, and a few collaborative workshops with Sons of Norway including wood chip carving, rosemaling and marquetry wood inlay. Please contact Landmark for more details or to reserve a spot for any of these workshops.

The Landmark Center will also offer a summer reading series on Wednesday evenings in July from 7-8 p.m. in our garden area. Join us for readings from a local author followed by free activities for youth.

The Landmark Center will participate in the Rock-Roll Stroll car show activities from 4-8 p.m. on the third Friday of each month, June through September. Food and drink, music and classic cars, local shops and restaurants will offer a great start to your summer weekends. This event is sponsored by the Tri-County Cruisers of Henning.

Please remember that Landmark is available for public or private meetings, gatherings, receptions, reunions, workshops and retreats. Our second floor retreat center has bed space for up to 10 overnight guests. We look forward to seeing you this summer in Henning.
