The Jolly Pops will offer a free performance at the Landmark Center on Wednesday, June 29 at 7 p.m., combining upbeat, original music with a host of children’s standards for a family concert to please kids and adults alike. 

This program is sponsored by the Landmark Center and the Viking Library System and is funded in part or in whole with monies from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Our summer reading series will return to Landmark four Wednesdays in July, beginning and ending with readings and activities by local author Stephanie Jorgenson. Guest readers for other weeks will include Melissa Sparks and Lisa Dreyer.

Please join us July Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for an hour of family friendly outdoor activity for youth, July 6, 13, 20 and 27. “Beverage and a Book” readers group will meet on Tuesday, July 5 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “The Orphans Tale.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion. 

The Viking Library Bookmobile visits Henning every other Tuesday with next visit on July 5 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in front of Landmark Station Building. Order books and videos online and have them delivered to Henning. 

Otter Tail County Historical Society Director Chris Schuelke will host a Historic Henning Walking Tour on July 7 at 7 p.m. This 90-minute tour will begin in front of Landmark Center and take you throughout the downtown area with stories from our past. A people mover will be available for those not wanting to walk. Registration fee will go towards OTC Historical Society programming. 

The Art of the Lakes Studio Tour 2022 is scheduled for July 15-17, with over 20 art studio locations open for the public. Landmark Center will host 5 Artists throughout the weekend, showing their artwork and demonstrating techniques. A brochure is available listing all studio locations on the Tour.

The Landmark Center will also host several arts workshops including Ruth Hanson Oil Pastel July 26, Mary Williams Ceramic Sculpture Aug. 2 and Aug. 30, Ellen Jean Diederich Watercolor from Aug. 10-11, and Mimi Seykora Ceramic Pottery 5-days in September. 

Additional workshops in collaboration with Sons of Norway include Rosemaling, Marquetry, and Chip Carving. Please stop at Landmark to pick up a summer event schedule.
