The Landmark would like to thank Otter Tail County Historical Society Director Chris Schuelke for including us in their Coffee Klatch series featuring local history in OTC.

Our Friday Zoom presentation featured the history of Henning Landmark Center, as well as the restoration of the Trinity Lutheran Church building and celebrated the historic preservation movement taken on by our community. Architectural historian Rolf Anderson presented details about our National Register nomination process as several members of the Charles Lewis Family were among the over 20 participants. This weekly OTC history series continues every Friday until March 26. Find the link to this Zoom series on

Speaking of Henning history, it is with great sadness that we celebrated the life and loss of Dick Brogard this week. Among the many other contributions Dick made to this community was being a founding member of the original planning committee and Board for the Landmark Center. His influence will be greatly missed.

Viking Library continues to deliver books, videos, and other items to Henning every two weeks, with the next delivery scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 to the Landmark Center. Items may be picked up from 1-4 p.m. that day. To order, please call Viking Library at (218) 739-5286.

Our creative writers group with Jan Smith will begin meeting again at the Landmark Center, with first date scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m.  All are welcomed.

Mari Fredericks will host a card making workshop on Saturday, Feb. 27. Please call for details and to RSVP, (601) 951-0747.
