Please join us on Thursday July 10 at 7 p.m. as Chris Schuelke takes us on a Historic Henning Walking Tour, beginning and ending in front of Landmark Center. We will have two people mover vehicles for those not wanting to walk. The tour is about 90-minutes followed by refreshments.
While at the Landmark Center you can view the two large Community Mural Puzzles we assembled this Spring, before the City of Henning puzzle makes its way to city hall for permanent display.
The Art of the Lakes Studio Tour is scheduled for July 18-20. The Landmark Center will host three artists this year, including Becky Albright GYOTAKU fish rubbings, Fred Kollman Stained Glass and Woodwork, and in the Station Building will be Paul Sparks with his hand carved fish and birds. The Landmark Center will be one of nearly 20 studios in the region open for the three-day weekend tour.
Space is still available for a multi-day Barrel Fired Pottery workshop, open to students from grades 8-12. McKenna Osmondson will guide participants using hand building or wheel throwing techniques to create with clay. Adults will be welcomed if space remains open. Participants will create pottery items with Raku Clay from 5-8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, July 13-17. After drying time, and bisque firing in Kiln, participants will return August 11-12 for Barrel Firing and finishing. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP.
Artist Ruth Hanson will host a Watercolor Batik workshop at the Landmark Center on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $45 registration fee includes all materials and instruction. Space is Limited, please RSVP. “These activities are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.”
