Two upcoming April workshops are open for registration, space is limited.

Artist Mike Weatherly will host a two-day Linocut Printmaking workshop on Saturdays, April 15 and 22.

Participants will carve design images into soft Linoleum sheets which will then be inked and transferred to paper prints. The first day will be design and initial carving, the second day will be test printing, refining cuts and final print making.

The following week, artist Clayton Johnson will host a two-day Wood Relief Face Carving workshop on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29. Participants will use provided carving tools to carve a three dimensional face relief image into an 11×14” Basswood board, 1” thick.

Johnson will provide step by step instructions and design, enabling you to create a face profile with depth. No prior carving experience is necessary. Please call the Landmark Center at 548-5760 for more information or to RSVP while space remains available.

“This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.”
