Landmark Center to host Historic Walking Tour

0Otter Tail County Historical Society is sponsoring a Historic Henning Walking Tour this Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. Celebrate our nations 250th by exploring our community with recently retired director, Chris Schuelke. Two people mover wagons will be available for those not wishing to walk. A $10 registration fee will benefit research at OTC Historical Society.
Art of the Lakes Studio Tour is scheduled for July 17-19. Henning Landmark will host 5 artists and will be one of the 18 studio locations included in the weekend tour. Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We have several arts workshops scheduled at Landmark for Youth and Adults, including creation of a Clay Fish Dish for youth, grades 1-6, from 5:30-7 p.m. July 21 amd 28.
Another workshop for seventh grade through adults will feature Glass Tile Mosaic garden art, from 5-8 p.m. July 22-24. These two workshops will be hosted by McKenna Osmondson. Tracy Bye will host “Good Death Good Life Café” discussions at the Landmark Center from 1-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, and every fourth Thursday of the month. Henning Landmark is available for public and private gatherings, meetings, receptions, reunions, overnight retreats. We have 5 air-conditioned bedrooms on our second floor with bed space for up to 10 guests. You may have noticed recent painting activity around our Landmark Station building, as we are repairing exterior and prepping for a new community mural painting project scheduled for early August. Also coming in August is our annual Corn, Brat, and Burger feed on Thursday, Aug. 20 from 5-7 p.m., with live Bluegrass Gospel music provided by the Spindler Family.
Artist Michael Weatherly will host a two-day Printmaking Workshop featuring Linoleum cutting and ink printing on paper. All materials and instruction will be included. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP or for additional Landmark information. www.HenningLandmark.org
