Glassblowing Artist Jon Offutt will present free demonstrations at the Landmark Center this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20-21, with six demos each day. Each demonstration last nearly 40-minutes showing the creation of two blown-glass art pieces from start to finish using his unique portable glass studio. Sit close enough to feel the heat coming from the portable crucible and molten glass. This is a unique opportunity to witness glass blowing in a local setting.
Demo times are scheduled for Friday at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Saturday demos are scheduled for 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Three Friday demos are available to Henning School students, and three Friday evening demos line up with the monthly Rock & Stroll Car Show. Saturday morning demos will also line up with our monthly Market Day at the Station, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The annual Landmark Pie and Pumpkin Oktoberfest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landmark Center. Come for free pie and ice cream, and pumpkin painting for all. Help us welcome the fall colors and celebrate the season.
Artist Mari Fredericks is offering a series of Stamp Card Making Workshops at the Landmark Center once a month, including Sept. 20, Oct. 10 and Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call for more information.
Artist Stephen Henning will host a one-day Oil Pastel Painting workshop at Landmark on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A $35 registration fee includes a full set of oil pastels, suede board and instruction needed to create an artwork of your choosing using this colorful technique.
