The Landmark Center in Henning hosted Teddy Roosevelt during a number of events in the community last week. In addition to having a special presentation at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Monday night, the former United States President look-a-like stopped by Henning School on Tuesday.

Artist Carol Braaten will host a Rosemaling Workshop at Landmark on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration fee of $85 includes wooden board, paint, materials and instruction needed to create your own sandwich board using “Rogaland Style” rosemaling technique. Our readers group, Beverage and a Book, will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion. The Viking Library Bookmobile visits Henning every other Tuesday, with next visits scheduled for Oct. 25 and Nov. 8 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in front of the Landmark Station building. Order books or videos and have them delivered to Henning. This is a free community service provided by the Viking Library System.

Many important topics and candidates on the ballot. Whatever your opinion, please participate, let your voice be heard and get out to vote. Early voting is available for those unable to get to the polling place on election day.

Henning Haunted House is coming the next two weekends at the old city hall building, Friday and Saturday nights October 21-22 and October 28-29. Please spread the word and walk through, if you dare. Food will be available in the community center all four nights.
