0Kids Art Camp at the Landmark Center will now split into individual days throughout the next several months, with the first event being scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2.
This first day of Art Camp will offer “Flood Painting” on canvas. Registration fee of $10 covers all materials and instruction. Please RSVP by calling 548-5760 as space is limited. This art camp activity is sponsored as a Thrivent Action Team project, and by funding from a private donor.
Starting Tuesday, July 27 and every Tuesday in August, writer Jan Smith will be available at the Landmark Center at 1 p.m. to help gather stories from Henning area residents for possible use in a Henning book in the near future.
Please consider sharing your stories from past or present. “What brought you to Henning? What is Your connection to this community?”
Please contact the Landmark Center, or stop by to share a story, a photo, or to suggest an individual we should interview. With your help, we hope to release a Henning History Book sometime in 2022. Please help us make this happen.
Our readers group, Beverage and a Book, will meet at the Landmark Center from 2-4 p.m. on Aug. 3 to discuss “Sold on a Monday.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion.
Viking Library Bookmobile will also be at the Landmark Center on Aug.3 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. You can order books or DVD’s and have them arrive with the bookmobile in Henning every other Tuesday.
National Night Out will be celebrated from 4-7 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the Henning Festival Grounds. Join us for a free evening of activities including the Scribbletastic Fun-O-Matic Command Post.
Artist Ruth Hanson will host a Watercolor Gouache Painting workshop at the Landmark Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP.
“These activities are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.”
The Landmark Center will host our annual corn and brat feed at the Landmark Center on Friday, Aug. 27 from 5-7 p.m. Please join us for freshly cooked sweet corn, grilled brats, silent auction items, live music, the Scribbletastic Fun-O-Matic Command Post and root beer floats.
