The Jolly Pops will perform a free evening of family entertainment at the Landmark Center this Wednesday, June 29 at 7 p.m. at the Landmark patio area. See the advertisement in this weeks Citizen’s Advocate for additional details. 

This event kicks off our free summer reading series every Wednesday in July from 7-8 p.m. Readings for youth followed by activities and refreshments will be provided each Wednesday beginning July 6 with local author Stephanie Jorgenson.

Our readers group “Beverage and a Book” will meet on July 5 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “Orphans Tale.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion.

This past weekend, the family of Dr. A.J Lewis and Charles Lewis gathered at the Landmark Center for a family reunion, utilizing our retreat bedrooms and Smart Room meeting space, celebrating the historic significance of Landmark Center and the years it served our community as medical clinic. We will continue to highlight our listing in the National Register of Historic Places, which was finalized in December 2021. Please remember that the Landmark Center facilities are available for you to use for gatherings, meetings, overnight beds for family gatherings, or smart room  and WiFi connections.

Otter Tail County Historical Society Director Chris Schuelke will host a Historic Henning Walking Tour on Thursday, July 7 at 7 p.m., beginning at the Landmark Center and moving throughout the downtown area. An $8 registration fee will go to the OTC Historical Society. Two people movers will be available for those not wanting to walk the tour route. The Henning Festival weekend will follow Friday thru Sunday.

The Art of the Lakes Studio Tour 2022 is scheduled for the following weekend from July 15-17. Henning Landmark will be one of over 20 studio locations on the tour, with five artists showing at the Landmark Center. Please pick up a copy of the tour brochure at the Landmark Center listing all studios included on the tour. Landmark also has copies of a Summer activities schedule for the Henning area.

A few highlighted events on the schedule include our annual corn and brat feed at the Landmark Center on Aug. 26 from 5-7 p.m. including fresh corn and grilled brats, silent auction items, live music, root beer floats and youth activities.

Fall activities include our annual pie and pumpkin Oktoberfest scheduled for Oct. 1, with live music, pumpkin painting and fall refreshments.

Many arts workshops are scheduled for those wishing to explore their creativity. Space is limited, so please call to register if interested in attending.

Additional workshops in collaboration with Sons of Norway include Carol Bratten Rosemaling Workshop on Sept.12, and Sid Visness 2-day Wood Chip Carving Workshop from Sept. 23-24, and David Jacobson Marquetry wood carving.
