Library Happenings

Henning School

The Henning Public and School Library recently received a Title IV grant worth $1,500.

What is a Title IV grant you might be asking yourself? Title IV is part of Every Student Succeeds Act and is a federal funding source designed to support student enrichment. These grants focus on improving access to well rounded education, enhancing safe and healthy learning environments and increasing the effective use of technology.

Our library is choosing to use these funds to offer programs that align with these goals, particularly in STEM education.

STEM education is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We hope to inspire young minds, particularly those of children aged 6-10 because they are at a crucial stage for cognitive and creative development. Introducing STEM concepts at this age fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. We hope to spark an early interest in science and technology, while building foundational skills for future academic and career choices.

With Title IV funding, libraries can become catalysts for STEM education, providing young learners with opportunities to explore, experiment, and innovate. We hope to inspire the next generation of thinkers and problem solvers right here in Henning’s very own Public and School Library.

Come on up and see what we are all about.

Remember Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m., we will be waiting for you.
