Frost is made from water turning into its gas form (water vapor) and then becoming a solid. When the air outside is saturated with moisture, frost will form. When cooled below the dew point, outside surfaces such as cars, windows, and trees are covered in frost.
I think one of the most beautiful scenes is of trees covered with frost. Being at the farm and hearing absolutely nothing while standing in the small glow of the barn light seeing the beautiful trees covered in frost is very calming and peaceful.
As I am writing this, snow is slowly coming down outside of the library windows and there is no wind. The trees are covered in frost and I realize that there are only 75 days until Spring. I am thankful for every moment of winter beauty that we have. Living with four seasons is just such a splendid way of life. Thank you Minnesota for providing such a wonderful background of beauty.
This week’s featured book is Frosted kisses. It is written by Heather Hepler. The main character Penny is learning that in a small town, life is never dull. A new resident to the town is Esmeralda. She is gorgeous, french, and a bit of a take charge kind of girl. She becomes close to Charity, the Queen Bee of the town.
Penny and her best friend Tally are working to save an animal shelter. Can they do it before the new girl and the Queen Bee ruin everything?
We would love to have you come up to the library and see what is happening. If you have never been to our library, you are missing out on a great sense of peace in this wonderful room. Stop on up each Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. following the school calendar and we will share a cup of tea with you!
