Let it Snow, let it snow…Time to dust off the show shovel and find the sled as we welcome a new layer of winter to our region. Soon the ice will be ready for safe fishing and next week we will celebrate the Winter Solstice with our longest night of the year. Find a way to get out and enjoy the season and stop into the Landmark Center if you need a place to warm up or connect with friends and family.

On Thursday, Dec. 15, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will pass through Henning with horns blowing, but will not be stopping. It will make a stop in Alexandria at 11:30 a.m. and will pass through Henning without stopping sometime around 12:45-1:15 p.m. on its way to Detroit Lakes and beyond.

Our book club, Beverage and a Book, will meet on Dec. 20 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “Girl with a Pearl Earring.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion.

The Viking Library Bookmobile will also visit Henning on Dec. 20 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in front of the Landmark Station building.

Stop by the Landmark Center for a new 2023 event schedule, we look forward to another exciting year of activities in Henning. Happy Holidays.
