The annual corn and brat feed is scheduled for this Friday, Aug. 25 at the Landmark Center from 5-7 p.m.
Join us for a free-will meal including fresh sweet corn, grilled brats, chips, and a beverage, silent auction items, custom quilt raffle, Live music by Wes-Tone featuring A.L., and root beer floats for dessert.
The Landmark Center is looking for a few vendors that may be interested in an outdoor Saturday morning market. We are looking at August 26, or September 2 if anyone is interested in space for a booth or trailer. Please contact the Landmark Center at 548-5760 for more information.
We still have a few spaces left for the five day pottery workshop by Mimi Seykora at the Landmark Station, scheduled for September 5, 6, 12, 14 and 21. Each participant will receive 25 pounds of clay, turning wheels, slab roller, glazes, and guidance from Mimi to create as many pieces as you are able. Dates allow for drying time, and time for initial bisque firing before glazing and final kiln firing. Registration fee is $100 per person and space is limited, please call to RSVP.
Our book club, Beverage and a Book, will meet from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29 to discuss “A Spark of Light.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion. The Viking Library Bookmobile visits Henning every other Tuesday, with next visits scheduled for August 29 and September 12 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in front of the Landmark Station.
The Rock Roll and Stroll car show has one more summer date scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15 from 4-8 p.m. on the streets of Henning. Come to town and see a collection of classic vehicles.
Artist Patricia Wahl will host a two hour Acrylic Painting workshop at Landmark Center on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration fee of $30 includes all supplies and instruction needed to create your very own 11×14 canvas painting featuring Vincent VanGoughs Starry Night and Sunflower paintings combined into one work of art. No prior painting experience is necessary, everyone will take home a completed painting and still have Saturday afternoon to get out and enjoy the weekend.
Please call the Landmark Center at 548-5760 to RSVP, space is limited.
