We have added seven more Community Helpers Blastoff Readers books to our library. We are trying to offer as many of these books as we can, as these books help the lower elementary students understand what a community helper is and what they do and what makes them good at their job.
The glossary on these books gives the explanation of the words but also gives an excellent visual of the definition. These books cover an EMT, a reporter, pilot plumber, police officer, nurse and a dentist. These books are displayed on our new black slat wall with the other community helper books.
Mrs. Mills third grade classroom will be doing a book report on these books, with each student choosing a profession they might want to be one day. The images in these books are bright and colorful and the text is large, making the reader want to keep reading.
If your child comes home with one of these books please take the time to talk over the profession they have chosen to read about. We hope to see you at the Henning library soon.
