This week we are celebrating fall sports and featuring four wonderful books in the Jake Maddox series.
Our first book is “Lucky Soccer Save” by Collin Scharf. This book jacket reads, “Lucky Martinez is the new kid on the River Valley Junior High HV soccer team. But his goalkeeper moves aren’t the only skill about to be tested.
“When the school’s fall talent show opens for auditions, Lucky will discover if he has inherited his abuela’s musical abilities. As things heat up on and off the field, can Lucky juggle both soccer and music or will he have to choose which of his passions to save?”
“Back Field Blow” is book number two by Eric Stevens. This book jacket reads, “Nothing can stop star running back Harris Weathers-until he takes a jarring hit, narrowly escaping injury. Harris is fine, physically, but his nerves are rattled. He can’t shake the idea that he could get hurt playing football. After faking illness to get out of a game, Harris realizes he has a decision to make. Does he love football enough to risk a big hit again? And is there anything he can do to keep himself safe while playing the game he loves?”
“Volleyball Victory” is written by Leigh McDonald. “Andrea can’t wait for another winning volleyball season. But there’s a problem-the team has a new coach, and he’s switching everything up. Now an inexperienced teammate is playing Andrea’s favorite position! Can Andrea adjust to the coach’s back-to-basics strategy, and will her team ever be ready for competition?”
These are three terrific books you will want to check out. We are open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. following the school calendar. We will have the coffee on and ready for you.
