0As I have written about before, I love to look at the “National” days. This first week of November is full of some great ones!
November 1 is National Author’s Day. If you have a favorite author you enjoy, take the time for the day to sit back and read. Enjoy a cup of a warm beverage, put your feet up, and relax with an excellent book.
November 2 is National Cookie Monster’s birthday day. How about you bake up several batches of your best cookies and take them around to area shut ins. They would love the generous thought and enjoy the wonderful treats.
November 3 is National Sandwich Day. My favorite sandwich is made with baked turkey, butter, tomato, avocado, and lettuce eaten on lefse!
November 4 is National Candy Day. This is a perfect day to take all that leftover Halloween candy and turn it into yummy desserts and have friends over to celebrate life.
November 5 is National Donut Day and I’m certain this is my daughter Courtney’s favorite day. Take some donuts to work, eat them for supper or, make homemade donuts.
November 6 is National Nachos Day. Get the ingredients and make your own best nachos with your family, you can individualize them to each of your own likings.
Lastly is November 7, National Magazine Day. If you do not have a subscription to a magazine, come on up to the Henning Public Library and read one of ours. We have Sports Illustrated, Parents magazine, National Geographic, Time, and Reader’s Digest.
The case in point for this week is get out and celebrate with someone and make your own National Day!
We look forward to seeing you at our library on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. following the school calendar.
