Walter Allen Hart passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Wadena. He was born on June 6, 1954, in Wadena to Clifford and Velma (Butler) Hart.
Walter grew up in Hewitt, Minn., and graduated from Bertha High School with the Class of 1972. Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country honorably until his discharge in 1976.
Following his military service, Walter pursued vocational training in plumbing at Wadena Vocational Technical College. He later completed a five-year apprenticeship with The Hibbing Taconite Company, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic and gained experience across various areas of mining operations during his 8½-year tenure.
In 1986, Walter relocated to St. Cloud, Minn., where he worked for a cabinet manufacturing company. In 2004, he began working at a granite stone manufacturing company in Sauk Rapids, producing vanity tops for 2½ years. In 2014, he returned to Bertha and took a position at Homecrest as a mold maker and CNC operator until his retirement in 2016. He later lived briefly in Wadena before settling in Henning, in 2020.
Walter enjoyed spending time outdoors and found joy in hunting and fishing. He also loved playing cards and sharing time with others through simple pleasures.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron (Britta) Hart of Fargo, N.D., and Kiel Hart of Denver, Colo.; siblings: William (Joyce) Hart, Ilene (Sonny) Wangerin, and Linda Starnes; separated partner Carol Hart; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
