Verie Grace Zillmer, 90, of Staples, Minn., passed away on Friday April 9, 2021 at the Lakewood Care Center. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 18 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples. Memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on April 19, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples with a visitation one hour prior. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples, Minn.

Verie was born March 18 1931 to Henry and Kate Broers. She was raised in Gary, Minn., on the family farm and was 1 of 15 children. Verie was proud of her German heritage.  She worked as a salesperson for Batcher Department Store and later sold antiques until her retirement. Verie loved socializing with customers and ensuring every customer found what they needed and more. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, garage saling, and playing cards. Verie walked strongly in her Christian faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples, Minn. She taught her sons honesty, integrity, and the value of being a Christian person. Verie was witty, loving, and caring and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Verie is survived by her three sons, Vernon “Junior” Rinerson of Staples, Minn., Roger (Sharon) Rinerson of Elk River, Minn., Steven Sorkness of Buena Vista, Ga.; grandchildren, Vernon III Rinerson, Nicole Blanchette, Megan Rinerson; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; siblings, Delores and Dudley. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Verie was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Marie, Walter, George, Agnes, Frank, Kathryn, Dorothy, Harry, Evelyn, Helen, Leo, and Beverly.
