A Celebration of Life was held for Stephen Dubel, MD, age 92 of Henning, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Trinity Center, 301 Douglas Avenue in Henning.   

Dr. Stephen John Dubel was born on June 26, 1930, in Irvington, N.J. His parents were the late Stephen and Mildred (Popek) Dubel. Stephen graduated from the Irvington High School with the class of 1948. He continued his education at Rutgers University where he received a BS in Biological Sciences and then graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1956. Stephen completed his internship at the Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Conn. in 1957 and his Residency in Internal Medicine from 1959-1961 and Research Fellow in Cardiology in 1962 at Temple University Medical Center.      

Dr. Stephen Dubel served in the United States Air Force, Medical Corps from September 6, 1957, to September 5, 1959 at the Loring Air Force Base Hospital in Limestone, Maine. He began a private practice in Red Bank, N.J. in 1962 and was a Full Attending at Riverview Medical Center.   

In 1953 Stephen was united in marriage with Verna Chaplin.  Their marriage was blessed with 5 daughters and 4 sons. Verna died of cancer in 1986.  

In 1990, Dr. Stephen J. Dubel was united in marriage with Elaine J. Andrews (Moen) and his family grew to a total of 12 children. Today this family has grown to add 30 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.   

On September 4, 2022, Dr. Stephen Dubel passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home in rural Henning, at 92 years of age.   

He will be dearly missed by his wife Elaine Dubel, of Henning, children Diana Cullum, Nancy Doren, John Dubel, Annie Moonan, Teresa Maguire, Wheezy Fitzpatrick, Tom Dubel, Mike Dubel, David Dubel, Lisa Knoflicek, Dale Andrews, and Tammy Fosse.
