Paula Jean Amundson was born July 2, 1951 in Worthington, Minn. She fell asleep in death on January 2, 2025 at age 73.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Bernard and Joyce (Goulette) Brunner; her brother Gregory Brunner; and her brother-in-law Thomas Krohn.
Paula graduated from Worthington Senior High School in 1969. On November 22, 1969 Paula was united in marriage with Michael Steven Amundson in Worthington, Minn. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Christopher, Mara, Samuel, and Margaret.
Paula loved her family deeply and was the perfect Mom. She was a fabulous cook and a gracious hostess. Through the decades, her family became known for their loving hospitality. Together, they hosted many friends and many strangers. (they weren’t strangers for long) Her smile was contagious, her warmth and love for people were her hallmark.
Early in their marriage, she and Mike began their study of the Bible. They soon got to know and love their creator, Jehovah. (Ps83:18) Paula found joy and excitement being able to share the truths she was learning with others. (Mt28:19,20) For the next 15 years she volunteered part time to tell others of her hope (Ps37:10,11,29) On September 1, 1985, Paula became a full-time volunteer in declaring this “good news” that Jesus taught, to all who would listen. (Mt 24:14) She had the pleasure of helping many to know more about the Bible and its hope for an earth restored to a paradise. (Isa 35) She zealously continued serving her loving heavenly father even after she began to lose her words to FTD. Paula trusted the promise Jesus made, to be resurrected to life right here on a paradise earth. (L23:42,43)
Paula is survived by her husband Michael Amundson: her children; Chris (Carol) Amundson; Mara (Michael) Martens; Sam (Michelle) Amundson; Maggie (Danny) Wheelock; 9 grandchildren; sisters: Jane Krohn and Barbara Wendling; other relatives and a vast multitude of friends from around the globe.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 25 at 2 p.m. at the Middle School in Monticello, Mnn.
