Norma Haugdahl, age 86, of Henning, passed away on February 4, 2024, at Our Home Your Home Assisted Living in Henning. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Belmont-Karvonen Funeral Home in Henning. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services at church. Norma will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Lutheran Cemetery, Henning.

Norma Jean Hagen was born on October 4, 1937 in Fergus Falls. Her parents were Clifford and Edith (Wilcox) Hagen. As a child, Norma grew up in Maine Township, attended Rural School District #24, and then graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1955. Following graduation, she worked at Otter Tail Power Company for six years.

On September 16, 1961, Norma was united in marriage to Richard Haugdahl at Maine Presbyterian Church. To this union, two sons were born.

Norma was a busy farm wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and especially having tea parties with her grandchildren who all lived close by. She was an avid bowler for 60 years and served as a den mother and 4-H leader when her sons were young. She enjoyed volunteering at her church, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and the Food Shelf.

Preceding Norma in death are her parents; two sisters: June Marie Hagen, and Joyce May Hanson; brothers-in-law: Dwight Hanson, Virgil Martinson, and Gayle Nyhus; and sister-in-law: Marlene Nyhus.

Norma is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Haugdahl of Henning; sons: Gary (Jenny) Haugdahl of Henning; and Alan (Tonya) Haugdahl of Henning; seven grandchildren: Katelyn (Beck) DeRobertis; Ashley (Ryan) Finney; Christopher (Sadie) Haugdahl; Casey (Ben) Kapsner; Sydney Haugdahl; Kelsey Haugdahl; and Chloe Haugdahl; great-granddaughter: Margot Jean DeRobertis; step-grandchildren: Ryan (Ellie) Holmquist; Alexander (Amy) Holmquist; James (Abigail) Holmquist; step-great-grandchildren: Anya, Israel, and Sheridyn; sister: Myrna Martinson of Erhard; devoted nieces and nephews; many other relatives and a host of friends.
