Merrily Henne, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 19 as the result of complications from a fall. She was in thea company of family at the time of her passing.

Merrily welcomed everyone around her with open arms. She touched and inspired countless lives throughout her 32 years of teaching English in Argyle, Minn. Her thoughtful and kind nature was cherished by her family, friends, students, and many others in the communities she lived in. In her later years, Merrily enjoyed living at the lake, and watching the sunrise and sunset. She was an avid reader, bird watcher, and Jeopardy fan. She had a great love of family, especially for her granddaughters. She was a genuine angelic soul who made those around her feel warm and loved. Everyone who knew her could attest to the fact that she was the best hugger. Merrily leaves a legacy of kindness, passion, acceptance, and love.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Eugene Henne, of Ottertail; son, Richard (Christine) Henne of Buffalo, Minn.; honorary daughter, Carmella (Bill) Speckman of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughters, Heather Fuchs (Anthony Pino) of Chicago, Ill., Kayla (James) Henne-Osfalg of Sauk Rapids, Minn., and Emma Henne of Buffalo, Minn.; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Judith (David) Rawson of Prior Lake, Minn.; two nieces; three great nieces; one great nephew; along with other family, and countless friends and acquaintances who had the privilege of meeting her.

A farewell service was held on Friday, October 29 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation began at 2 p.m. with the service following at 3 p.m.  Refreshments will be served following the service. The family asks that everyone wear masks.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to The Arthritis Foundation or your local Salvation Army.  Two organizations that were dear to her heart.
