Kathleen “Kathy” Wardlow was born on May 13, 1939, to Arthur & Ann (Knappen) Stelter in Detroit Lakes, Minn.  She was baptized on June 25, 1939, at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, Minn., and was confirmed at Bakke Lutheran Church, rural Detroit Lakes on June 7, 1952. 

Kathy and her family lived in Detroit Lakes until the family moved to California where Kathy’s Dad worked in the shipyards. They moved back to Minnesota where the family lived on a small farm.   She attended grade school in District 51 and went to high school in Detroit Lakes and graduated with the class of 1957.  After graduation she went to Rice Memorial Hospital for nursing school and become an LPN working at the hospital till 1964. 

Kathy married the love of her life Michael Wardlow at St. Bridges Catholic Church in DeGraff.  The couple resided in Willmar and New Ulm before moving to Henning where they purchased the Linden Park Resort on East Battle Lake which they operated until 1997.  Kathy was a devoted wife and mother to their sons Mike and Greg. 

Kathy was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and active in the Wednesday Circle Group.  She loved to go on bus trips, travel, read, go to rummage sales, spoiling her grandchildren, eating anything chocolate, and spending time with her family.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents.

Kathleen will be remembered by her loving husband Michael; children Michael A (Tiffany) Wardlow, Gregory (Rosa) Wardlow; grandchildren Michael, Ginger, Joseph, and Georgia; brother Richard Stelter; sister-in-law Dorothy (Bill) Noor; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
