Jay Dean Becker, age 60, of rural Deer Creek, passed away at his home in Deer Creek, on September 27, 2025. Memorial Services were held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena.

Jay was born on December 25, 1964, in Wadena, to Bud and Judy Becker. Jay was baptized on January 31, 1965, and confirmed on May 6, 1979, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Deer Creek. He attended Deer Creek High School, graduating with the class of 1983. He attended the University of Minnesota Morris and graduated from Concordia, St. Paul.

After college, he worked at numerous places in sales and marketing in the Twin Cities area. With a focus on forklifts and material handling and storage equipment. Jay loved his friends and helping them with whatever they needed, from moving to handyman and yard work. He loved farming from a young age and was excited with his recent move back to the area to rekindle that love. He enjoyed motorcycle rides with friends. He also enjoyed many sports over the years. These included volleyball, pool, golf, softball, cornhole, deer hunting, basketball, and playing poker with family and friends. He also loved going to meat raffles and playing pinochle (just like his dad). He also never turned down a raffle, pull tab, or sports bet. He was very blessed to have many dear friends, and I know if you had even a single conversation with him, you more than likely received a Facebook friend request so that conversation could continue in the future!

Since 2020, Jay had been suffering from several health issues. He was blessed to have another five years of life, which he lived to the fullest. Preceding Jay in death were his father, Marvin (Bud) Becker, grandparents Elmer and Selma Becker and Wilmar (Babe) and Irma Post; and many other close relatives.

Jay is survived by his mother, Judy Becker of Wadena; siblings Penny (Bruce) Schmidgall of Hancock, Minn.; Reggie (Kim) Becker of Zimmerman, Minn.; and Ginger Line of Browerville, Minn.; nieces: Samantha (Hasham) Qadduom, Madalynn, Emma, and Maya Becker and Bria and Charlee Line; and nephews: Bryce (Emma) Schmidgall, Parker (Hailey) Schmidgall, Mason, and Gage Schmidgall.
