Gerald Edward Lindberg, 89, died peacefully at his home in Fergus Falls on September 8, 2026.

Gerald was born July 5, 1937 in Battle Lake. He attended Henning School and joined the United States Marine Corps on February 9, 1956. He married Lucille Barker on September 23, 1961 in Henning. After her untimely death in 1974, he married Janet Olin Stage on July 5, 1978 in Sisseton, S.D.

Jerry knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He prayed every day for his family and friends. He loved to fish and in his earlier days he enjoyed deer hunting and snowmobiling. He worked for Mark Sand & Gravel for over 30 years until he was involved in a head-on collision and was no longer able to work. Jerry and Janet took advantage of that early retirement and enjoyed traveling and spending part of the year in Arizona. His favorite travel experience was their Alaskan cruise and highly recommended it to anyone who would listen. In his later years he drove a beet truck each fall and absolutely loved it. He always enjoyed large vehicles and said that when he was a kid the county was repairing the road near his home. He would sit and watch with amazement and one of the drivers finally took him for a ride. He decided at that point that he would drive one of those big trucks and do road construction some day and he did.

Jerry is survived by five children from his first marriage: Wanda Speer, Teresia Deflavis, Randy, Brian (Tammy), and Kurt Lindberg as well as 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by three step-children: Ruth Ellis, Christine (Ellis) Orsburne, and Anthony Ellis as well as 7 step-grandchildren 8 step-great grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Rosie Otten and Mary Jean Baird.

Funeral services will be held at a later date at Woodland Baptist Church in Fergus Falls.
