Gail Kelm-Maynard, 59 of Battle Lake died Friday, March 18, 2022, at Pioneer Care in Fergus Falls.

  Gail Iris Kelm-Maynard was born on June 23, 1962, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Ivin and Gladys (Langren) Kelm.  She was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran Church, attended the Battle Lake Public School graduating from Battle Lake High School in 1981.  Gail furthered her education at Moorhead State University graduating with a double major in Special Education and Mathematics.

  Gail and Gregory Maynard were married on July 23, 1994, in the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. They lived in Battle Lake.   Gail taught six years in Clinton-Graceville and then 28 years in Bertha-Hewitt, retiring in 2019.  She enjoyed belonging to the American Legion Auxiliary and would send yearly greeting cards to every veteran at the Fergus Falls Veterans Home, and to each veteran at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center. Gail enjoyed basketball with her favorite team being Duke University, and baseball with she being an avid Minnesota Twins fan.

  She is survived by her husband, Greg; two brothers, Gene (Pat) Kelm and Gary Kelm both of Battle Lake; aunts and uncles, Carol (Warren) Boese of Battle Lake, Ginny Langren of Coon Rapids, Minn. and Edna Wangerin of Shakopee, Minn., Irisi Cichy of New York Mills and Elroy Dickhoff of Sauk Centre, Minn.; and by numerous relatives and friends.  Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Ivin and Gladys Kelm; grandparents, Fred and Lillian Kelm and Oscar and Lillie Langren; aunts and uncles, Lester Langren, Ilene Dickhoff, Norman Lukken, Eno and Betty Kelm, Idor and Sophie Kelm, Elmer and Ethel Donnay, Leonard Wangerin and Ray Cichy.

  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 4-7 PM, with a 7 p.m. Sharing of Memories, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake.

  Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake.
