Eleanor Elizabeth Dick, 87, of Chanhassen, formerly of Bloomington, Minn., died on January 12, 2023. Eleanor Elizabeth Hintsala was born on January 30, 1935, on the family farm near New York Mills. She graduated from New York Mills High School and the Minnesota School of Business. She worked in a variety of clerical positions in Minneapolis, including for the Minnesota Bureau of Engraving. She married Richard Carl Dick on July 17, 1971, and they made their home in Bloomington for more than 45 years. She was known for her love of cats, a strong faith, her kindness, a wry sense of humor, her appreciation for good books and learning new things, as well as her lifelong passion for baking cookies and desserts. Her shared sense of adventure and love of travel with her husband led them to destinations in the Western U.S. as well as Alaska and Canada.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dick, her parents John W. and Hilda K. Hintsala, sisters Bernice Hintsala and Adelyne Trites, and niece Mary Trites. 

She is survived by her brother-in-law Chester Trites, nephew Charles (Melanie) Trites, nieces Elizabeth (Timothy) Norheim, Jill Trites, and Janet Trites, five great nephews and nieces, two great-great nephews, brother-in-law Jack Dick, nephew Steve, niece Mary Jo, many cousins, and friends.
