Dottie Haack, age 88, of Ottertail, passed away on December 28, 2023, at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, Minn. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Karvonen Funeral Home in New York Mills. Dottie will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Lutheran Cemetery, Henning.

Dottie Jeane Limbeck was born on July 29, 1935, in Lincoln, Neb. Her parents were the late Walter A. and Evelyn Rose (Hall) Limbeck. Dottie attended Omaha Tech High School and graduated with the class of 1954. In 1956 Dottie then graduated from Commercial Extension Business College.

On May 24, 1957, Dottie was united in marriage with William A. Haack in Mason City, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with 4 children. Together they made their home in Minneapolis, where Dottie raised their children and Bill worked for Cargill in Columbia Heights for 20 years. Dottie and Bill then resided on the family farm in rural Evansville, Minn. Bill passed away on December 17, 1980. Dottie moved to Ottertail in 1993.

She enjoyed shopping, collecting butterfly decorations and knickknacks, visiting with friends, reading, yard work, decorating, and traveling. Dottie’s family was very important to her.

Preceding Dottie in death were her parents; husband: William; special friend: Eugene Lohse; brother: Ronald Limbeck; and son: William Haack Jr.

Dottie is survived by her daughters: Carrie Haack; Wendy (Chris) Wilson; son: Michael Haack; daughter-in-law: Maria Haack; 7 grandchildren: Stephan; Marrissa; Sheila; Brenda; Lea; Trianna; Casey; numerous great-grandchildren; sister: Kathleen (Vern) Weiland; brother: Corrie Limbeck; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
