In Loving Memory of Diane (Comstock) Carlson

Diane (Comstock) Carlson, born on August 5, 1960, in Breckenridge, Minn., left this world on March 1, 2024. 

She attended Wahpeton High School, graduating in 1978, and later pursued her education at the University of North Dakota, graduating in 1984. Diane loved music, possessed a smile that could light up any room, and had a contagious laugh. Recently, she enjoyed spending time at her childhood cabin on East Battle Lake.

Diane found immense joy and fulfillment in raising her two sons, Johnny and Kyle. Her dedication to her children was unwavering, and her love knew no bounds. Diane will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with those around her. She leaves a legacy of cherished memories forever treasured by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Frances (Ujka) Comstock, and her sister, Patrice. She is survived by her brother, Timothy Comstock, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, her two sons, John (Sarah) Carlson Jr. of New York Mills, and Kyle Carlson of Ellijay, Ga., as well as her grandchildren, Harlow and Sutton. Kyle’s partner, Chris Lewis, also mourns her passing.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, from 5-7 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, N.D.
