Funeral Services were held for Dennis Tiede, age 78 of Wadena, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena with Pastor Nate Loer officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Jacob Springer, Conner Springer, Lukas Springer, Zoey Schmitz, Colter Schmitz, Savhannah Springer, Gracie Springer, Peter Springer, Paisley Springer, Emmie Springer and Finley Springer. Dennis was laid to rest at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Henning, Minnesota at a later date.  

Dennis Kieth Tiede was born on September 13, 1942 in Boone County, St. Edward, Neb. His parents were the late Roy Julius and Anna (Weifenbach) Tiede. Dennis was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Verndale High school with the class of 1961. 

Dennis was united in marriage to Judith “Judy” Jorud on November 23, 1963 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning. Together they made their home in Wadena and their marriage was blessed with four children, Mary, Stacy, Mark and Jason. 

Dennis was employed for UPS in Wadena for 32 years. Retiring in 1995 he enjoyed farming and raising Herefords. Dennis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Leaf River Cruisers Car Club, and the Central Minnesota Classic Tractor Club.  Dennis enjoyed raising his Hereford cattle, John Deere tractors and riding four-wheelers. Dennis loved his family and seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren always put a smile on his face. 

On March 14, 2021 Dennis passed away at his home at 78 years of age under the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.  Preceding Dennis in death are his parents, Roy and Anna Tiede and his brother Dana Tiede. 

Surviving Dennis is his loving wife of 57 years: Judy Tiede of Wadena; children: Mary Springer of Wadena; Stacy Bartels of St. Cloud, Minn.; Mark (Krissy) Tiede of Aldrich, Minn.; and Jason (Tracy) Tiede of Verndale; grandchildren: Stephen (Brittany) Springer; Cody (Vivian) Springer; Krista (Nick) Schmitz; Kayla (Shane) Bartels; and Mitchell Tiede; 11 great grandchildren; sister: Janice Thalmann of Fargo, North Dakota; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
