Memorial Services were held for Delores Stephan age 82, of Vining, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Folden Lutheran Church, rural Vining, with Reverend Rud Wasson officiating. Congregational hymns will be accompanied by Violet Moen. Delores will be laid to rest in Folden Lutheran Cemetery. 

Delores Elaine Selvaag was born on October 30, 1939, at home in Folden Township, rural Vining. Her parents were the late Edwin and Sigrid (Bergstein) Selvaag. 

Delores attended Country School District #265 in Folden Township until the 8th grade and then graduated from the Henning High School with the Class of 1957. After graduation she was employed as a teller at a bank in Minneapolis. 

On March 8, 1958, Delores was united in marriage to Romaine Stephan. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Curt, Greg, and Tammy. Delores and Romaine made their home in Minneapolis. 

In 1968 they made their home in Vining. Delores was employed at Medallion Kitchen. She was also employed through the years at a sewing factory in Henning, the St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie, Madson’s Grocery in Parkers Prairie, Kenny’s Candy, and Barrel O’ Fun in Parkers Prairie, and Grandma Jo’s Café in Parkers Prairie. She also served on the Folden Township board for over 10 years.  

She has resided at St. William’s Assisted Living in Parkers Prairie, and recently made her home at Caring Hands in Henning.  

Delores enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, quilting, knitting, baking, canning, gardening, babysitting her grandchildren and helping at Folden Lutheran Church, especially helping with the Syttende Mai Dinner. 

On August 3, 2022, Delores passed away at Alomere Health in Alexandria, Minn., at 82 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Delores in death were her parents; husband, Romaine; brother, Stan Selvaag and sister, Shirley Gunderson. 

Delores is survived by her children: Curt Stephan of Parkers Prairie; Greg (Tammy) Stephan of Vining; and Tammy (Kerry) Midtling of Almora; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Mavis) Selvaag; and sister-in-law, Karen Selvaag; many other relatives and a host of friends.
