0David Trana, age 82, of Ottertail, passed away on September 16, 2024, at his home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Henning. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Henning. Visitation will resume one hour prior to Mass at church. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan, Brandon, Carrie, Kennedy, Deklin, Page, and Blake. David will be laid to rest at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery, Henning.
David Allan Trana was born on May 10, 1942, to Gilbert and Agnes (Sorenson) Trana in Wadena. David attended Henning High School, graduating with the class of 1960. Following High School, David was employed at Cream of Wheat in Minneapolis, Minn.
On December 30, 1965, David was united in marriage to Louise Pechan at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minn. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Together they made their home sharing time between Henning and Minneapolis. In 1971, they made their home permanently in Henning and owned and operated Dave & Louise’s on Leaf Lake. David was employed at Lund Boat Company for 30 years and operated Dave’s Mini Golf with the assistance of his children in Ottertail.
David was a member of Ottertail Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed watching the birds, telling stories, going on trips to the casino, and watching the Minnesota Twins Baseball team.
Preceding David in death are his parents: Gilbert and Agnes; and sister: Janice (Ralph) Kiecker.
David is survived by his loving wife, Louise; children: Daryl Trana; Doug (Mary) Trana; Duke Trana; Greg Trana; Angela (Keith) Gadacz; and Amber (Jeremy) Andrews; ten grandchildren: Page, Miranda, Dylan, Brandon, Carrie, Chris, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Deklin, and Jayden; two great-grandchildren: Bowen and Henry; nieces: Lynne (Dave) Goebel; and Nancy (Buck) Durand; many other relatives and a host of friends.
