David Bowman, 75, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, December 30, 2023.

David Russell Bowman was born January 11, 1948 to Wayne and Hertha (Schmidt) Bowman. He attended school in Bertha-Hewitt, graduating in 1966. After high school, he was drafted to the United States Army. He served from 1968-1969 in Vietnam. David earned the Bronze Star with V Device, the Air Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.

On August 2, 1969 David married Betty Jane Wilhelmi in Bertha.

Over the years he worked at Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud as a painter and DeZurik in Sartell as a Valve Manufacturer.

He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. David enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, bird watching, reading, Sudoku puzzles, and watching TV.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wayne and Hertha Bowman.

David is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Wilhelmi Bowman; his siblings, Gloria (Bruce) Anderson, Janet Nelson, Leon (Shannon) Bowman, Dianne (Terry) Shallock, Dean (Teri) Bowman, Sharon Kingston, Deb Arnold, and Tim (Ruth) Bowman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service: 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Saint Edwards Catholic Church, Henning, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church.

Clergy: Father LeRoy Schik

Interment: Saint Edwards Catholic Cemetery, Henning.
