    Photos by Chad Koenen The Henning Elementary dance group, under the direction of Bill Balfanz, put on a show at halftime of Tuesday’s girls basketball game in Henning. The dancers were all elementary students at Henning School and the performance even brought out a sighting of the school Hornet mascot.

Iliff, who is an eighth grader at Henning School, will advance to the multi-state regional contest in Iowa City, Iowa n March 15.

    Contributed photo The Regional Spelling Bee was held in Fergus Falls on February 11. Henning School champion Beckam Koep, advanced to the sixth round and attempted the word “apiary,” a place where bees are kept. The competition included 25 students from surrounding districts.
