Virgil Burgor was born in Bertha, Minn., and grew up in Parkers Prairie. After his service in the Army, he received a teaching degree from St. Cloud State. He married Delores Ann Neels in 1961. He retired from a 34 year long career in St. Paul Schools, working in several alternative programs as a special education and evening high school teacher. 

Virgil loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, reading, fixing things, and being Papa to his grandkids.  He also enjoyed teaching and spending time at the farm in Henning. 

Virgil was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence, Delford, Juanita, Shirley, and Nadine. He is survived by his bride of 61 years, Delores; daughters, Kim and Karen (John); grandchildren, Dan (Nitika), Anna, Greta, Benjamin, Elizabeth, William, and many other loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held on November 4th, 2022 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 Snelling Ave. S, St. Paul MN. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10-11 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m.
