Library Happenings

Henning School

On October 13, Nancy Brutlag brought her reading therapy dog to the Henning library to read with the kindergarteners. Groups of three students at a time were able to spend 15-20 minutes reading with Nancy and relaxing with Annie.

Being able to watch these students interact with Annie is priceless.  As Nancy would hold the book and read to the students, the students would pet Annie, lay across her, or just hold her.

Of course these children had a lot of questions about Annie and as Nancy is so patient, she gently gave them the answers to their questions and encouraged them to try to read words in the books they shared.  We look forward to hosting Nancy and Annie again this year and being able to share both of them with first through 3rd graders.

Come on up to the Henning Public Library and let us help you to find just the right book for you—we happen to have many great books about all kinds of dogs!

We are open to the public on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. following the school calendar. We hope to see you soon.
