The Hornets placed second in the PRC behind Wadena-Deer Creek. In sub-section 6A they are ranked number one. Henning will play their first game of the tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 26. This will be a home game against the winner of Rothsay or Battle Lake. If they win, the Hornets will play at home on Friday, Oct. 28, against the winner of Park Christian and New York Mills.

In the game against Parkers Prairie the Hornets played well. As a team they served 98 percent with 5 aces, they had 38 kills, hitting at .174, blocking was solid, as we had 10 solo blocks, and they serve received 91 percent to the target.

Grethen Eckhoff served 21/21 with 2 aces and Aaliyah Olson was 13/13 with 1 ace. Leading the team in kills were Ally Hart and Becca Frederick with 8 apiece. Lyvia Misegades had 7 kills, Gretchen Eckhoff had 6, Natalie Eckhoff had 5 and Myiesha Antoni had 4.

In the game against New York Mills the Hornets started off a little slow. Head coach Kristy Finck gave the Eagles credit as they kept balls alive, hit hard at Henning and gave the Hornets some out of system things that the team was not ready for. The girls worked hard and kept their composure, but they could not finish the first set out and lost 24-26.

In the next sets, the Hornets were more focused and able to pick up on the offensive end of things. Scores were 25-19, 25-21 and 25-11.

As a team Henning served 95 percent with 9 aces, we had 50 kills, 7 solo blocks and serve received 90 percent to the target. Aaliyah Olson led the team in serving as she was 29/29 with 3 aces.

The Hornets had 4 girls with double digit kills, Ally Hart had 14, Becca Frederick 12, Lyvia Misegades 11 and Gretchen Eckhoff had 10.  Frederick led the team with 5 solo blocks, Misegades led the team with 34 assists. Hart had 37 digs, Faith Fisher had 30 and Gretchen Eckhoff had 27.
