Do you want to be on the ballot for a city council/mayor position or on school board in November? If so, filing is underway throughout the area.

Filing will take place between now and Aug. 16 for local elections in Henning, Ottertail, Vining, Deer Creek and the Henning School Board. Filing can take place at the city hall of each respective city, as well as the Henning School District office for school board.

There are currently three seats for four years apiece up for election on the Henning School Board. The City of Henning, Deer Creek and Ottertail have a pair of city council positions open for four years apiece, as well as a mayor seat for two years.

The city council seats for the City of Henning are currently held by Tammy Fosse and Jim Haberer, while the mayor position currently held by Darren Wiese will also be on the ballot in November.

In Vining, a two-year mayor position, as well as a two-year treasurer position will be on the ballot in November. One city council member and one city clerk for four years apiece will also be on the ballot.
