The fourth grade girls basketball team took second place at the Pelican Rapids Valhalla Tournament on Feb. 12. The Hornets lost their first game of the day to Wadena-Deer Creek, before bounding back securing a couple of close wins over Pelican Rapids and Underwood. Team members include: Front row: Shadley Bunkowski, Harper Umland, Jocelyn Doll and Lily Grieger. Back row: Kaitlynn Scott, Hailey Fiskum, Abigail Bartells, Jacobi Saari and Olivia DeYonge.

The Henning fifth grade girls basketball team wrapped up their season with a third place finish at the Bertha-Hewitt Tournament on Saturday. The team defeated Bertha-Hewitt in the opening round, before dropping two close games to Staples-Motley and New York Mills. Team members included: Brooklynn Geyer (kneeling), Kendall Koenen, Chad Koenen (coach), Klare Thalmann, Stella Iliff, Rylee Weller, Emily Hanson, Ava Rousu, Ivy Witt and Steve Witt (coach).
