0Tickets are available through the Landmark Center for the upcoming play, “The Lion in Winter.” The show is produced and directed by former Henning resident Sharon Thalmann. This performance is one night only on October 28 at 7 p.m. at the Trinity Center. Call the Landmark Center to reserve your tickets, adults $15, youth $10. Here is a short synopsis.
“The Lion In Winter,” by James Goldman, is a modern-day classic. Comedic in tone, dramatic in action. It is historical fiction and tells the story of the Plantagenet family who are locked in a free-for-all of competing ambitions to inherit a kingdom. The queen, and wealthiest woman in the world, Eleanor of Aquitaine, has been kept in prison since raising an army against her husband, King Henry II. Let out only for the holidays, the play centers around the inner conflicts as they fight over a kingdom during the Christmas of 1183. As Eleanor says, “Every family has its ups and downs” and this royal family is no exception.
The Landmark Center readers group, Beverage and a Book, will meet on October 26 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “Angela’s Ashes.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion.
A Magical Medora Christmas will return to Henning for a 2021 holiday performance at Henning School on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 4:30 p.m. Please mark your calendars.
Tickets will be $30 each and available exclusively through Henning Landmark Center. A 3 percent fee will be added for credit card purchases.
