The Landmark Center is still seeking your stories related to Henning area history. We are also looking for any photos from the region that might help tell this story. Please contact Dan Broten at the Landmark Center if you have a story or photo you wish to contribute to this collection. We can scan your photos and return originals to you. Mari Fredericks will host a one-day rubber stamp card making workshop at the Landmark Center on Saturday, Sept. 11. Please call Fredericks at (601) 951-0747 to register.
Artist Mary Smith will host a one-day basket weaving workshop on Saturday Sept. 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A $40 fee includes natural and dyed reeds, instruction, and all other materials needed to create a 10×10” “Try-A-Twill” square Basket. No prior experience is necessary.
The Landmark Pie and Pumpkin Oktoberfest is currently scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9, with live Bluegrass music by The Skally Line, fresh baked pies, pumpkin painting, Scribble Booth kids activities, and silent auction items. More details to come.
Artist Cynthia Buchholz will host a one-day barn quilt painting workshop on Sunday, Oct. 10. Participants will create a custom 2×2’ barn quilt painting using exterior grade paint on a pre-primed aluminum sign board. All designs, paint, materials, and instruction will be provided for an $80 registration fee. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP.
Ceramic artists Bill and Mimi Seykora will host a one-day ceramic RAKU workshop at the Landmark Center on Saturday, Oct. 16. Participants will be provided with a bisque fired pot and have the ability to burn new designs using horsehair and feathers. This outdoor event will use a portable propane kiln to reheat pots before participants add the finishing touches.
Groups will be broken into two, at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Space is limited, so please call 548-5760 soon to RSVP.
The 7-day Mimi Seykora Ceramics workshop scheduled for September is now sold-out, filled to capacity.
