Two Community Puzzle Mural projects will be ready to distribute in February, using a total of 39 1,000-piece puzzles, creating two large mural images to be displayed at Landmark and City Hall. Participants will be given the month to take home and assemble an individual puzzle, then return it to the Landmark Center for inclusion in the larger mural.
The first project will use 15 puzzles to create a 5’x10’ Landmark Center Mural puzzle, the second project will use 24 puzzles to create a 6’x12’ Henning Mural puzzle. Please call Landmark if you wish to be a part of this project. First project begins next week, the second project begins by mid-February.
Thanks to grant funding received in 2024, Landmark Center now has a new large format digital printer and will soon begin to take requests for a variety of Art prints once we have worked out calibration challenges. Please contact Dan at the Landmark Center at 548-5760 for additional information. “These activities are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.”
Our programming committee is busy planning new activities and events for 2025, please look for a new schedule as it becomes available.
The Viking Library Bookmobile visits Henning every other Tuesday, stopping at the Landmark Station from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Next visits are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28 and Feb. 11.
Our “Beverage and A Book” readers group meets every 4-weeks, getting new deliveries from the Bookmobile. Next meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 2-4 p.m. All are welcomed to join.
Please remember that Landmark is available for public or private meetings, gatherings, receptions, reunions, workshops, and retreats. Our second floor retreat center has 5 bedrooms with space for 10 overnight guests. Our History Center has a collection of local Henning artifacts and is working with a group of volunteers to gather additional stories and images to hopefully be used in a Henning History book. Please let us know your Henning connection, and allow us to collect your stories or scan any significant images for inclusion in the archives.
